Design Trends for 2013

Interior design and fashion trends mirror each other in today’s fashion news, menswear influence is going to play a large role in the home fashion lines. Deeper winter dark colors are shifting more to the mid-toned berry shades. Reds are moving towards the red-oranges such as Poppy Red, Tangerine Tango, Spiced Coral, Brandied Melon, Apple Cinnamon, Baked Clay and many other shades. Chiffon Yellow will be popular this year in many accent accessories and home furnishings.

Classic architecture is always a winner and this year we will see the classic forms combined with a new lighter more open look in home fashions. Featuring a new transitional painting with a simpler classic piece of furniture offers a fresh feel to the room. Transitional rugs with exciting patterns and textures blend the fabulous new fibers to lay a timeless foundation for that special dining room, great room or master bedroom. Natural textures and styling will be seen with architectural accents such as exposed wood beams, stone flooring, marble slab tops, bamboo flooring and products, sea shell accents, stained glass, and stone framed elements. An authentic natural look takes center stage with sophistication and style.
